About Me
- Name: Alexa Weber Morales
- Location: Oakland, California, United States
I sing in four languages, crossing borders with acoustic jazz, boleros, salsa and samba. I'm a songwriter, percussionist, dancer, pianist and tree-climber (also a mother, magazine editor and recovering auto mechanic). Since 2004, I've made five studio recordings, including my two solo efforts, "Jazzmérica" and "Vagabundeo," both produced by three-time Grammy nominee Wayne Wallace. My 2007 release reached top 20 airplay on the JazzWeek World Music chart while my lead singing on Wayne Wallace's "The Reckless Search for Beauty" was simultaneously in the top 10! Great link. Thanks. Now that I'm no longer an NYT subscriber I often miss such esoterica. But I'm betting it's never too late to begin training an animal -- that you can, in fact, teach an old bitch new tricks. Or better yet a primate. Anyway, we'll find out after the World Cup's over and I haul my butt off this sofa.
