About Me
- Name: Alexa Weber Morales
- Location: Oakland, California, United States
I sing in four languages, crossing borders with acoustic jazz, boleros, salsa and samba. I'm a songwriter, percussionist, dancer, pianist and tree-climber (also a mother, magazine editor and recovering auto mechanic). Since 2004, I've made five studio recordings, including my two solo efforts, "Jazzmérica" and "Vagabundeo," both produced by three-time Grammy nominee Wayne Wallace. My 2007 release reached top 20 airplay on the JazzWeek World Music chart while my lead singing on Wayne Wallace's "The Reckless Search for Beauty" was simultaneously in the top 10! For some reason I cannot get this video to load, although Episode 11 plays fine. Won't load on YouTube either. (Hangs up.) My problem or yours? Or YouTube's?
There might be something weird about this one. I'll try re-uploading it to YouTube tomorrow. But right now the YouTube site in general is taking long to load. Maybe heavy traffic or some other problem?
How cute is your son on percussion!?! You're right about making the most of every moment. I often turn my car into a practice room. I just stumbled upon your blog and I look forward to hearing more of you.
