Notes from the world of latin jazz & Brazilian singer-songwriter Alexa Weber Morales
This is an original I wrote from my first album, Jazzmerica (2004). It's called Play That Song of Love and Rage, and I performed it last night at the Savanna Jazz Series in Sacramento, California.

I sing in four languages, crossing borders with acoustic jazz, boleros, salsa and samba. I'm a songwriter, percussionist, dancer, pianist and tree-climber (also a mother, magazine editor and recovering auto mechanic). Since 2004, I've made five studio recordings, including my two solo efforts, "Jazzmérica" and "Vagabundeo," both produced by three-time Grammy nominee Wayne Wallace. My 2007 release reached top 20 airplay on the JazzWeek World Music chart while my lead singing on Wayne Wallace's "The Reckless Search for Beauty" was simultaneously in the top 10!
