I sing in four languages, crossing borders with acoustic jazz, boleros, salsa and samba. I'm a songwriter, percussionist, dancer, pianist and tree-climber (also a mother, magazine editor and recovering auto mechanic). Since 2004, I've made five studio recordings, including my two solo efforts, "Jazzmérica" and "Vagabundeo," both produced by three-time Grammy nominee Wayne Wallace. The problem is, if they were assholes and wrong when they said things you didn't agree with -- and they certainly were -- why aren't they assholes and just as wrong when they say something you do agree with? Assholes are assholes. Nothing they say should be given any weight whatsoever. And certainly not linked to. (And I say that with great shame, because I did it too.)
