West Coast Latin Rock and KCSM TV

Last week we recorded a series of pledge breaks for KCSM TV (sister station to our only Bay Area jazz station, KSCM FM 91.1) in San Mateo. Professor Rudy Ramirez (the fellow making a silly face with the guitar) is a genuine sweetheart and prankster who met me on a gig with the funk band I worked with, bought my CD, and invited me to do this for KCSM, his alma mater (and where he now teaches).

The show our pledge break is interrupting (enhancing?), entitled Latin Legends, focuses on West Coast rock bands including Azteca, El Chicano and Santana. I learned a lot during the prep and recording process. The show and our silliness (we sang and goofed around with KCSM DJ Chris Cortez) will air Saturday, August 8 at 8pm on KCSM, which last I checked was channel 60. Thanks to producer Kaveh for all his help!
