Alexa,
Wandered into your set on sunday. Girl, you are the cat's meow! I love running across a talent I
haven't seen before. You surrounded yourself with a serious band which first attracted my curiosity
and then your sultry charismatic stage presence and vocal had my attention for the rest of your set.
I read your blog, don't be so hard on yourself! Video rarely captures the essence of an artist.
You may not realize it but you turned out a good set.
You smile, you sing, you move during a song and nothing is false about it, it is honest and it is you!
Your are the real deal!
You are stunningly beautiful as well, I believe I am smitten!

Those guys honking at you, while you were leaving the festival, should have been on their knees kissing your feet, I would have!
Warmest regards,
Mark.

ps I have some photos of the performance. If your interested let me know where to forward them.

Alexa,

Thanks for signing my guestbook...and thanks for the comments on my song "Antojos De Mi Tierra". I'm glad you like it...I wrote it for my paternal grandmother. For the record, its probably one of my better tunes...Sony/BMG liked it enough to put it on their Hot Salsa! compilation CD.

Anyway, about your singing (and dancing)...if you dance as well as you sing...you must be great! You have a tremendous voice and your CD is a joy to listen to. I hope one day we may perform together (or at least share the stage). Best to you...

Hola Albert, thank you so much for writing. Yes, actually Angelina came to my CD release concert in San Francisco. She looks amazing, as French women always do!

Albert Gomis i Verdu - Saturday, September 15th, 2007 12:51 AM
Congratulations!!! You're a great latin-jazz singer. I have enjoyed your music a lot. Please, come to Spain soon. There's a lot of interest about latin-jazz lately in Spain. There's a big band in my town that matches your style.

Last question: Did you met Angelina Sivierou?

Margaret - Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 11:26 PM
Saw Alexa last evening at Santana Row, excellent! Enjoyable! Outstanding band, I hope to see you again.

Rosario Cervantes - Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007 6:42 PM
Alexa,

Love your music, love your artistry with Wayne Wallace's Reckless Search for Beauty. I hope to catch you live at SJ and at Grace Cathedral. You should headline for SFJazz lineup.

Dear Alexa, My name is Angelina, I'm French. I don't think you will remember me. I stayed with your family a long time ago in Berkeley (Arden rd House) as your "au pair" girl. I'll be in SF to stay at friends' home in Larkspur. next May and I will be pleased to hear from your parents, Chris and David, as well as you, your brothers Eric Michael and Peter. Your mother and I wrote a while after I left Berkeley but it's such a long time (nearly 30 years) that we lost contact. If your parents are OK and have time, it would be great to meet. I still remember a lot from you and your family, and that you loved praticing piano much more than Peter. It seems that the piano lesson has been very successful for you. You look so much your mother. I am very grateful to Christine because she taught me a lot and gave me confidence with myself and even now I'll still remember our talks. Alexa, I do hope that you, your parents and brothers are fine and enjoying life. I am quite exciting to come to San Francisco after all these years, those days in Berkely have changed my life or better made the person I am today. Sorry for this long chat. Take care and all my best wishes. Love from Angelina

Thanks--nice to know communities from around the Net can form and support people who are trying to live their dreams. I love www.43things.com! Another great site is www.43folders.com
Hope to get to Colorado, where I have family, or Wyoming, where it's so amazingly beautiful, in 2006!

js155 - Friday, January 6th, 2006 10:24 AM
Thanks for the cheer on 43 Things. Good luck with your kitchen remodeling. I listened to your music samples - very heartfelt and soothing. I have a friend who is a sax player in a jazz group in Ft. Collins, CO. If you get a gig in WY or CO, let me know.

Hey bro, thanks. Just thinking about Kool and the Gang makes me inspired. ;-) Actually, I do love Celebrate Good Times. Remember how they always played that at A's games? Do they still do that?

Peter Weber - Thursday, December 8th, 2005 10:09 PM
Listen to Kool and the Gang, they will inspire you.

Renee Bulow - Sunday, November 6th, 2005 9:36 PM

Bonjour Alexa, vos chansons sont superbes! Greetings from France, where we enjoy so much your song Mountains to Flatten, Valleys to Fill! Too bad your message is not heard far and wide! Courage. Je t'embrasse, Laurent

David Ollier Weber - Sunday, August 7th, 2005 6:52 PM
Double-edged? Au contraire, mon chou. Tongue-in-cheek, yes. But in fact I've heard you sing virtually every genre I mentioned (Navajo chants come to mind as an exception), and I'm convinced you handle them all with equal ease and melodic grace. And I've loved hearing you sing them. It's hard to be multi-talented... don't I know? Ouch, I just bit my tongue. Seriously, you have a wonderful voice and talent, and anything you choose to do will be a gift. So go for that Latin Grammy thing, mi hija.

Allison Green - Friday, August 5th, 2005 5:32 PM
Hi, I am looking for an old friend, Paul Eastburn, and was wondering if you could give me his email or vice versa. Thanks a lot!

Alexa - Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 11:56 AM
Thank you, Daddy! Your support is double-edged, as always.

David Ollier Weber - Friday, July 22nd, 2005 1:20 PM
I think you should do two albums -- one even more eclectic than Jazzmérica, with, say Uzbeki love songs, Bulgarian hard-voice laments and Navajo chants included, the other strictly Hispano-American rhythms so you can win a Latin Grammy. (But you could certainly include some Radio Tarifa-style North African cuts.) Then you can branch out and astonish your fans with an all-Gospel disc and then another of classical lieder: "Alexa does Franz." [Schubert, that is. Hey, maybe in merengue style, backed by accordion, bass, tambora and you on the guira.] There's far too much timid specialization in music these days. It's time for someone brave and talented enough to spread herself and her audience really, really, really thin. You owe it to your ART!

Alexa - Thursday, July 21st, 2005 3:56 PM
Hi Paul--thanks for your support! In fact, I am putting a list of songs together for another CD, and I've been writing like crazy ever since I finished the last one. What do you think--should I focus on latin and salsa or continue the eclectic course of Jazzmerica? Thanks again!

Paul - Thursday, July 21st, 2005 2:44 PM
Alexa, I love your CD and listen all the time. When are you doing another? Eager fans want to know.
