Tonight, BOCA MUNDIAL, a world jazz band led by Grammy-winning multilingual vocalist Alexa Weber Morales, plays the Impulse Room! The sextet will perform a delicious variety of international musical flavors for listening and light dancing at Walnut Creek’s newest jazz venue.
BOCA MUNDIAL includes pianist and composer Anne Sajdera, drummer and bandleader (with the Afro Cuban Jazz Cartel) Brian Andres, Grammy-winning percussionist and sonero Braulio Barrera (with Somos el Son and Pacific Mambo Orchestra), international bass prodigy Scott Thompson, guitarist Brian Moran (with Grupo Falso Baiano) and singer-songwriter Alexa Weber Morales.

Alexa Morales is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter based in the San Francisco Bay Area, known for “her flamboyantly multilingual repertoire.” Her debut album, produced by five-time Grammy award nominee Wayne “The Doctor” Wallace, was released in 2004 on the label she founded, Crazy Monkey Productions. She subsequently signed to Patois Records for her second album, Vagabundeo, which charted on national jazz radio and scored international distribution via Koch. In 2011, Alexa Weber Morales joined the then-new 19-piece mambo/salsa band Pacific Mambo Orchestra. Leaving Patois Records, she launched a successful Kickstarter campaign and self-produced the all-original album “I Wanna Work for You”. After assisting with Pacific Mambo Orchestra’s successful 2012 Kickstarter effort, she recorded and composed for their eponymous debut album, which received a Grammy Award. She continues to write and record for her own and other projects.
