I'm an Oakland jazz salsa singer-songwriter, fluent in a few languages thanks to my itinerant childhood. Since 2004 I've done more than a dozen studio recordings for my own & other bands. In 2010, I sang on the Grammy-nominated Bien! Bien! In 2011, I made a fan-funded CD, and in 2012 my singing/songwriting was on Pacific Mambo Orchestra's debut CD. In 2013, we won a Grammy!

Death Valley Trail Marathon: The body is not mechanical. The body is biomechanical.

Death Valley Trail Marathon: The body is not mechanical. The body is biomechanical.

“The body is not mechanical. The body is biomechanical. You don’t wear out like a machine, you break down muscle based on load and then build it back bigger than before. The body adapts,” said the man sitting next to me on the bus. He told me his name was Rob. We were chatting excitedly...

Were They Zombies?

Were They Zombies?

Seen on today’s run: A swarm of deathly handsome agents with fake handguns doing a hostage negotiation training exercise outside a building (I asked them). I have never seen such good-looking officers. Hmm, maybe it was a Chippendales kind of thing. But they said they were park police. A very old man with a heavy...
The Infamous Wetsuit Video

The Infamous Wetsuit Video

These days, everyone wants to play music on YouTube. That’s great and good and all that, but it also means your little unplugged video probably won’t go viral unless you work really hard at making that happen. I spend my free time living life rather than trying to make videos go viral, or become the...
