Jazz musicians Kim Nalley and Tammy Hall performing free concert

San Jose Jazz is putting on a series of free streaming concerts, and this one will be great! My personal connection to San Francisco Bay Area jazz and blues vocalist Kim Nalley is through Jazz at Pearls, a San Francisco venue she owned and operated for a number of years. I gained many international fans playing there because it was such a stellar spot and filled with tourists.

Kim will be joined by pianist Tammy Hall (from the safety of Kim’s home) to present this live-streamed concert on Facebook Live and YouTube.

From San Jose Jazz: “Tammy Hall began seriously playing the piano when her grandmothers pooled their resources to furnish her with private lessons from age 8 to 18. When a visit to Brussels turned into a 2 year stay, Tammy co-founded the quintet Touche Différente (Different Touch), performing in Brussels, Antwerp, France, Holland, Ibiza and at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Since returning to the Bay Area, Tammy has worked with artists as diverse as Holly Near, Nicolas Bearde, Ernestine Anderson, Queen Esther Marrow, Connie Champagne and Laurie Anderson. She has performed at venues in the US, Japan, Europe and Mexico, including the Kennedy Center, Jazz At Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Monterey Jazz Festival, SFJAZZ Center and Yoshi’s.”
